Get your push NotiFICTIONs on!

Celebrate Microfiction Mondays with stories from your favorite Serial Box authors

Push notifications. Not a term that typically strikes enthusiasm or inspiration in the heart of the average mobile user. But we here at Serial Box are all about expanding the horizons of what’s possible in the world of storytelling, no matter the medium or screen size.

Beginning July 9th, we are giving the shunned notification a shot at fame with the launch of an all-new feature: Microfiction Mondays.

Every Monday we will release a new 150-character-or less story from our talented pool of more than 60 Hugo, World Science Fiction, and Nebula Award-winning and -nominated authors, all via push notifications.

The perfect bite-sized story for a busy afternoon filled with meetings, we hope these will provide a moment of fictional solace for our Serial Boxers. This is one more step in the world of pushing the boundaries and limitations of technology and social to expand on the written word and storytelling, and we are excited to bring you something fresh.

Speaking of snacks, here are a couple of sample notifictions to whet your palate. Because we like you and think you should have nice things.

Images of microfiction stories that say: The ghosts don’t like that the living outnumber them. They tell me they’re going to do something about it soon. They won’t say what. and “Yes, he’s dead.” She smiled at me. “How do you like the cake? I made it especially for you.” Thunderstruck, I stared down at the crumbs on my plate.

These stories won’t live anywhere else, so be sure to turn on your push notifications (and download our iOS app if you haven’t already!) so you don’t miss out on these nuggets.

P.s. Not sure how to change your notifications settings? Maybe Apple can help!
