5 Upcoming TV Shows and Films We're Excited to Watch

Between Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, network TV shows, movie studios, and and and the list is basically endless for things we want to watch. Here are just a few of the upcoming shows and movies that really caught our eye.

Penny Dreadful: City of Angels

Oscar and Golden Globe nominee Adriana Barraza (Babel) has been tapped for a lead role opposite Daniel Zovatto and Natalie Dormer in Showtime’s upcoming series Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, a follow-up to Penny Dreadful from the original series’ creator, writer and executive producer John Logan.

The Wind

If you're a fan of westerns and a fan of the horror film genre, we've got a trailer for a movie that you don't want to miss. It's called The Wind and it looks like a great old west thriller that we know we'll enjoy. With The Wind, director Emma Tammi and writer Teresa Sutherland have embarked on a nightmarish yet empathetic exploration of domestic solitude, skilfully conjuring — in bone-chilling visual and sonic strokes — an indescribable spectre that seems to emanate from the abysses of the night itself.

The Widow

Kate Beckinsale plays Georgia Wells, a woman in search of her presumably dead husband, in this thriller series. While three years ago it was said her husband was killed in a plane crash over the Democratic Republic of Congo, she believes she sees him in the background of a news report, sending her on a frenzy to Congo to find out the truth. This new offering from Amazon Prime looks right up our alley.

The Order

Still missing Teen Wolf nearly two full years after it wrapped on MTV? Wish you didn’t have to wait months for new episodes of The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina? Well, Netflix has heard your prayers and responded with The Order, the weirdo young adult supernatural drama you didn’t know you needed to while away the (hopefully) last few cold weather weekends of the year.

Hanna

The Hanna TV series will essentially adapt the story of director Joe Wright’s 2011 film, centering on the titular character (Ronan), a teenage girl who spent her entire life detached from civilization, raised to be a ruthlessly efficient fighting machine. We loved the movie and can't wait to see what they do with the tv show.
