5 Real-World Phenomena Investigated by the Societas Librorum Occultorum

Once an individual comes into contact with a possessed artifact, it is incredibly hard to stop the ensuing destruction.

Team Three encounter more than their fair share of books with a bite, but magic can infiltrate the human world through other methods. At the heart of most supernatural, paranormal, or demonic activity is an artifact, but sometimes it can be much harder to find the real cause of the problem.Team Three have seen some seriously blood-curdling, make-your-skin-crawl things. Listed below are some of the phenomena that teams from the Societas Librorum Occultorum have encountered on their travels across the globe. You just haven’t heard about it until now.1. VIRGIN MARY CRYING BLOOD

Across the globe, people have witnessed statues of the Virgin Mary shedding tears of blood. At the Vietnamese Martyrs Church outside Sacramento, CA, many have reported sanguine tears running down the Virgin Mary’s cheeks. One woman even travelled from Las Vegas, NV with the hopes that the Virgin Mary would help relieve her breast cancer.

“I think she’s crying for all the sins of the world and everything,” says witness Lana Cosentino.

Incidents of this nature are quite common and, as they say, easy to debunk—yet they make you question their significance. Besides, after facing demons, anything seems possible.

2. THE BERMUDA TRIANGLE

To this day, the Bermuda Triangle remains something of a mystery. One of the Triangle’s most famous disappearances was that of Flight 19: five Avenger bomber planes took off from a Florida naval base on the December 5, 1945, never to return. In fact, the disappear-ance of Flight 19 is so famous that it was featured in Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

3. SPONTANEOUS HUMAN COMBUSTION

Spontaneous human combustion, also known as SHC, has occurred for centuries, dating all the way back to the 1400’s. Polonus Vorstius is the first case recorded in history books: the Italian knight burst into flames after consuming two ladles of wine. There have been countless combustions since then, including one case in which a gentleman in New York was reported to have spontaneously combusted whilst watching an episode of The Twilight Zone. That deserves an episode of The Twilight Zone itself.

It should come as no surprise that Spontaneous Human Combustion is the result of dark magic. Once an individual comes into contact with a possessed artifact, it is incredibly hard to stop the ensuing destruction.

4. PAST LIVES

Past life stories have often been dismissed as unscientific, as there is no concrete evidence or proof to shed light on such claims. But perhaps we should look to the story of Dr. Eli Lasch and the three-year-old Druse boy. While doing research in Golan Heights, Dr. Lasch encountered a boy who claimed to have been murdered with an axe in a past life. As he ushered both Dr. Lasch and his elders to where he believed his body was buried, the group uncovered not only his past body, but the axe used to kill him as well. If that’s not proof, what is?

5. NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCES

Near death experiences have been recorded throughout history. However, Beverley Gilmour may be the only person in Britain who is receiving medical treatment for her near death experiences. Gilmour has been having near death experiences since 1987, with up to three of these experiences occurring every month.

“I have an out of body experience and my heart stops. Most people who go through NDE – a near death experience – have them on the operating table or in a moment of trauma like a car accident. Most only have one such experience in a lifetime,” says Gilmour. “I go into a trance like state whilst I am lying down. I feel I move over to the afterlife...I have had to adjust my life around it.”

Cases of near death experiences are hard to ignore, particularly when they leave a deep impression on the individual. As one only treats near death experiences if they emerge from contact with powerful magic or demonic entities, Gilmour’s experience suggests the presence of dark forces swirling throughout Britain. Sounds like a case for Team Three!
